T3Con

11:58AM - 12:06PM (7 Minutes)

12:01PM

Okay, so I spent a good amount of time on Sunday and today, this morning from 6.55 until now trying to figure this out. I didn't punch in because I don't know what this kind of falls under, if it falls under T3 or if it falls under my business. So I know what the issue is and Magenta is probably going to be susceptible to this as well. So I don't know, I've been trying to deal with Microsoft about this issue for a while. So how Microsoft works is that Microsoft licensing is tied to a specific tenant and tied to the MSP. So what ends up happening when we started T3, Crane Pros and Magenta, I was the MSP. So MSPs and CSPs provide services from Microsoft. So we get like a bit of a discount from Microsoft in return. We are responsible for providing the support to the end user or the end customer. With that said, Microsoft since MCE, Microsoft or whatever it is, Microsoft New Commerce Experience since they released that, Microsoft licensing is not transferable. They're hoping to make it transferable at some point in time or at least that's what my CSP is telling me that they're in the works. But right now how it works is if I buy Microsoft license for T3 as a tenant, that license is locked to T3. I can't move that license over to Magenta and likewise it stays locked underneath my MSP account with the CSP that I'm under. So they're really not moving licenses around. They're not allowing the licenses to be moved in between tenants or in between MSPs or in between CSPs.

12:03PM

So the issue that that causes is that I, for T3Con and for Magenta and for Crane Pros, I signed up on a one-year commitment on these. On a one-year commitment you get a lower rate from Microsoft, plus we still get an additional discount on top of that. So I signed up to try to, you know, maximize the savings for T3 and for Magenta. Unfortunately that commits me to, and I guess I was billing T3Con and Crane Pros and Magenta on a monthly basis, so I didn't ask you guys, I didn't ask any of the companies to prepay the full amount. Except for, looks like we did it on Crane Pros, we just billed the whole amount in advance so that we wouldn't have like straggling emails going along. I don't know if we did the same thing for T3Con, I'll check that, but in general I've been billing the companies on a monthly basis and the yearly commitment to you guys was kind of like transparent. I was doing that because I knew that Magenta wouldn't go out of business. The issue is now that I'm on a yearly commit with the license, when I separated myself, like removed myself as being an MSP, the licenses don't want to transfer to Microsoft Direct, but they do show up in the account, they just don't want to apply. And how I kind of determined that this may be the issue is I tried signing up for, and I think I've done this in the past because I remember doing this, I signed up for a trial service under Microsoft Direct and then I canceled the trial and then the Business Basic and the Business Standard licenses that were under my MSP, under the T3Con tenant from before, somehow became active again. And I did see this in the past, but it seems like it has to be done every couple months or every month or I'm not sure. I'm gonna have to kind of monitor it. Anyways, T3Con has been moved back under my control for the MSP account, so we shouldn't have issues with that. And Crane Pros was actually tied to T3Con, so I may have to switch them up as different tenants, but for now they they are one in the other.

12:06PM

There is still a bit I need to figure out with this licensing. On the Magenta side, I have been dealing with Microsoft support to try to make sure that this doesn't happen. But again, I'm kind of limited to their support time and their support schedule, and they have to escalate to different departments. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's slow, sometimes they don't know the answer, so they have to escalate further. In terms of licensing, licensing is outside of the regular support scope. So it has to be escalated to a different department, and then they have to get back. And really, with Magenta, I've been trying to move over my commitment, or at least transfer the commitment obligation onto Magenta, and then transfer that to the Microsoft Direct licensing. So at least that way, you guys can get the yearly commit price under Magenta, and I wouldn't be obligated to pay those. Because right now, how it stands is I can get additional Microsoft licensing through Microsoft Direct, but then you're going to have duplicate licenses, and I still have to pay for the licenses that I originally committed to. So it's a bit of a sticky mess, but that's Microsoft licensing. I think Microsoft doesn't really care about their MSPs and CSPs, and I'm sure if you Google searched it, a lot of people are kind of on the same page for the last, I don't know, five, six years, whenever NCE rolled out the New Commerce Experience. They've all kind of been not too thrilled, so it looks like Microsoft is almost trying to, I don't know, push people away from using managed service providers or cloud service providers or value-added service providers. So it looks like they're just trying to take the cut of the pie back to their domain. I don't know. I am going to look at a quick redundancy right now to see if there's a way to create a failsafe, but I don't know if that's going to be possible with Microsoft because I just don't know how they're going to report back, so I have to find out. There is a way using backup mail exchangers...

Urbano Design (Justin)

12:06PM - 2:24PM (2 Hours 17 Minutes)

12:06PM

give access to a new web guide to the control panel.

12:12PM

Okay, I was trying to figure out why the changes for the tag that Justin supplied weren't updated on the website, and I realized my stupid problem. I updated it in my IDE, but I just noticed now it says files need to be synchronized with deployed ones on new.urbano.design, base version is not yet stored. So what that means is, I guess I created new.urbano.design as a subdomain name while I was working on creating a copy of the website from the old one, and then I think I just went online and I copied everything from new to the www root, but when I updated it this time, I just updated my IDE, but it pushed the changes to new.urbano.design, not to urbano.design, so I'm gonna fix that right now. I just have to make sure that the changes between the copy on new.urbano.design and urbano.design are the same before I sync them through, just so that we don't have, like I didn't update anything on urbano.design, and then we revert to an old version, so I'm just gonna double check that right now.

12:22PM

Delete new.urbano.design to clean things up.

12:24PM

synchronizing files from urbano.design to my IDE. Then I'm going to compare between new.urbano.design and push the updates.

12:27PM

I had to restart my IDE, or all the projects anyways, just so that it could allow syncing.

12:33PM

Okay, the IDE is almost synced up, so I'll try checking what changes there are.

1:13PM

Downloading all the backups and cleaning up the workspace area.

1:16PM

Got to check if certain domains are being used in the past Google Ads campaigns.

1:17PM

They are not, so I'm going to just clean everything up except for the urbano.design website, not to cause confusion for the new developer.

1:21PM

I'm backing up the ID data so that it doesn't get confused in the future for me if I need to go in and do anything.

1:27PM

Alright that's all cleaned up. I'm just gonna look through the sync files now and double-check everything one more time.

1:41PM

Checking the synchronization again because I'm refreshing the live page and it's not reflecting the changes, so just seeing what's going on here.

2:04PM

Okay, everything is synchronized. I've closed down the IDE now. I've confirmed that everything is synced and working as it should. And now I'm just going to give access to the new developer and forward that information to... I think I have his email, so I'll forward his email as well.

2:05PM

COMPLETED TASK: I need to add the Google Analytics tags, and I'll need to figure out how he wants them linked to the forms for call-to-action submission, because you can't really generalize them.

2:05PM

COMPLETED TASK: Delete new.urbano.design to clean things up.

2:23PM

Okay, the email was sent to give access, and I kind of also explained roughly how it works, like what folder structure is used there. So that's that, and I'm going to stop doing this now.

2:24PM

COMPLETED TASK: give access to a new web guide to the control panel.

2:24PM

I'm going to mark this other task as well off, just so I don't have it lingering around for the Google Ads. I guess Sean will just be doing that, so I don't need to do that anymore.

2:24PM

COMPLETED TASK: At some point I'll have to take a look at his ads as well when I have a little bit more time and redo the ads for him so he's not just wasting money.

Magenta Construction

2:24PM - 4:56PM (2 Hours 31 Minutes)

2:24PM

I need to give Dylan access to some of the Subaru files from Greg's computer.

3:14PM

I shared a bunch of the files from Greg's computer. I created a new account on the network share for Paul so that he'll have full access to the files. I added Troy and I added Sam as well so that both can have access. I gave access to Dylan, but only to the related Subaru files. And I gave him some other files that may be useful for estimating and templates that I found, but we'll have to go through this later on to make sure that they're all accurate. Greg, Dylan is asking for some access to Teams, so I'm gonna take a look at that right now. He should have access in the channel, but he doesn't, so I'm gonna look into that right now.

3:33PM

On the phone with Motorola right now trying to figure out what's going on with the phone orders I did find the same phone at Staples. It's $50 off right now, so $349.99 $50 more than what we would have been paying through Motorola, but like It's kind of seeming a little bit stupid right now to go through Motorola I don't know. I'm kind of don't even want to get them with Motorola anymore But we'll see where that goes

3:37PM

COMPLETED TASK: Need to find the old tablet.

3:37PM

COMPLETED TASK:
