Magenta Construction

10:38AM - 5:29PM (6 Hours 50 Minutes)

10:38AM

I started about 10-15 minutes ago, just trying to get a hold of Bell, see if they have any promos. They gave me a different number to call, I might have to call Troy to be put on as a delegate on the account.

10:39AM

Right now I'm just working on Autopilot, a tweak to Autopilot and the status page.

11:46AM

Just applying for a RoboPack free license. RoboPack is something that I'm using, well, I'm going to be using in Intune. Instead of manually packaging any kind of applications that need to be approved, it simplifies the process, speeds it up, packs and signs them, and makes it easier for automatic deployment and management of the applications that are installed on the system. It also helps with patch management to be able to upgrade certain things automatically. But you have to apply for it because it is a paid product, but under 100 devices, it's free.

1:06PM

Just on the phone with Belle, working on getting a credit for the last month. Also checking with GDMS to make sure that Daphne's phone is still working. It was working the other day, so I think I have everything fixed up. Set up an account.

1:08PM

All right, so they've submitted that claim, so they're gonna give us some kind of a credit back for the last month. And I do see a bunch of phones here, they just don't support the wireless charging, but they're Samsung phones, so they'll have a little bit better support. So I'm gonna call Troy and confirm with that very shortly. Did get an email from Chris, I'm gonna have to reach out to him, wondering for an update for the ERP. They're having HR issues, so I'm gonna see if I can at least get them using the HR aspect of the ERP, but I'm gonna reach out to find out what the needs are. And then I'm supposed to have a meeting with Dylan later to organize a couple of things in preparation of this transition, so.

1:48PM

Just got off the call with Chris, we had a 37-minute long conversation. He was mentioning some things about HR and time tracking. He mentioned that there is a workforce, he has experience with it through Induit, which integrates with QuickBooks. I said, you know, like, if it's $6 or, you know, whatever per month, I don't see why as an interim solution, it wouldn't be a good idea to do it. I think that it's going to add more burden, just adding all these kind of waypoints and going through this kind of data in that way. I suggested another approach, which I was looking at implementing with QR codes. But, I mean, I think that's something, like, the whole phone tracking thing was going to be in the later stage of the ERP rollout. The ERP rollout was going to do with accounting first, and then with project management and linking all the projects, and then with human resources management. And then finally at the end was going to be time tracking. Well, actually asset tracking was going to fall in between them. And then at the end was going to be the whole time tracking management aspect of it. And finally at the end was going to be my kind of proposed solution of a QR code based tag on each site, depending on who shows up on the sites. It would present them with either an inspection form or project information or work order or whatever is necessary to complete the work. And I believe that would be a more accurate way of tracking the time spent on each job site. And then using GPS on the phones to be able to detect when they have left the site, for example, and prompting them on a screen or keeping track of travel time separately so that we can dissect these a little bit more granular. But again, this kind of granular dissection kind of falls later in the whole process.

1:49PM

For now, I'm just going to wait for Troy to get back to me. I have the Android phones. I'm just verifying that they're going to work. I still have to log into GDMS. I'm going to do that now just before I forget. And hopefully everything is A-OK. I'm doing that right now, actually. And I just have to confirm that the Samsung Galaxy A35 will, in fact, end up working with... We have an abnormal registration again. I don't like that. OK. Oh, no, we don't. What? Oh, no, it's saying, yeah, it's all normal. OK, so there haven't been any problems with her phone since then, so the changes that I made before have worked. And, yeah, I just have to confirm that the networks on this A35 will work with Bao. And as soon as I get a hold of Troy and confirm that it's OK, I'll just order these off of Amazon and hopefully everything will go through.

2:49PM

I ordered the phones I was just looking at something with the wireless charging but I'm gonna stop doing that and I need to call Dylan to have our meeting

3:49PM

you

5:28PM

I had a bit of a conversation with Dylan at 3.13 until about 4 o'clock. And then from 4 until – from 4.13 until – it says 42 minutes. So 4.13 until close to 5 o'clock I guess. I was on the phone with Vlad trying to figure out this numbering thing. For some reason he wants to keep the numbers very short but I'm trying to standardize the numbers. I'm kind of following, you know, general ideas here. Like I looked at how Alice Don does their numbering for their contracts. They prefix with LS for Alice Don. And then they have five numbers after that. Sorry, my mind is – I'm going to have to stop working. I'm proposing to put MAG in front of the contract numbers, keep them at five digits long and use a hyphen as a delimiter. And then for the last set of numbers they'd be prefixed with what they are. P for purchase order, W for work order, E for estimate, etc., etc. With three numbers after that incrementing from 001. I think this would be the easiest way especially for using any kind of OCR. It creates a standardization for the company. And that way it's easy to figure out which ones belong to Magenta, which ones fall under T3 and what they are kind of at a glance. It is a little bit longer than the numbers that they're currently using. But I'm looking at the numbers and I don't understand anything that kind of goes on. It would be hard at a glance if you just got those random numbers to be able to figure out what they are. So this would help to structure it a little bit more. And I strongly believe we should go with that.
