I started a little while ago, 8.30, 8.45-ish. I've been working on this MDM. I was just watching a couple videos since, well, in the morning when I was making breakfast at 7.30-ish, 7.30 till probably about 8, and then yeah I hopped on right after that to try to do some stuff with the MDM. I've hit kind of a crossroads where Intune would be a better way to manage it just because it offers more raw configuration with Intune for mobile apps. I can configure it based on JSON data that I pass through, or they offer, you know, a template as well, but key is that they offer JSON, which is raw data, meaning that I could look up the actual app development documentation, and there's an XML file in there that kind of outlines all the available parameters, whereas ManageEngine, they don't do that. They only have key-value pairs, so pretty much it would be like they just, in ManageEngine, they just provide you a key like email, username, IMEI number, password, APN, whatever the property is, and you provide the value, whereas in Intune, I have that option, or I have the option to upload JSON data, and the issue is coming in that I wanted to set up Microsoft Launcher for the Android home screen to maintain a consistent experience now and in the future, and I think the Microsoft Launcher is the best and lightest weight out of them all. I use it on my phone as well, and it's very productive, integrates very well with the Microsoft To-Do, Microsoft email, it looks very, very good. Anyways, long story short, to configure the launcher the way that I wanted to, I need that custom JSON, not just the key-value pairs.

It was a long day but I think I got most of it pretty much done. There's still one thing that I'm working on with the MDM and it's just making the automatic deployment or the automatic configuration work and I'm having a couple issues with that. I'm still waiting for one account to get approved for the MDM. I don't know why but they require a review before we get approved for the account so hopefully that'll happen soon. I also tweaked out the... I'll put that in the next message.

I also tweaked out the asset management system that I have, or the QR router, what I'll call it. So I didn't spend too long on it, it's very basic and it's database only right now. I did create a view, when you scan the QR code it will give information about it. This will help to keep all our assets organized and we can add metadata to it as well, which will help keep the assets organized. It will also help with assignment. Again, I didn't spend too much time on doing it, I made kind of a basic interface and it's a very kind of primal implementation, just so that I have a placeholder and I can keep track of this information, because each of the phones have two IMEI numbers, they have an EIN number, like the serial number, and then what they came with, and I took photos of the phones as well, and the cases, and documented what was done on the phones, so we know. And also I did the same thing for the SIM cards, and I linked up the phone numbers to the SIM cards, so we're going to have those as assets. I think eventually I will add the phone numbers as assets as well, and then I think I'll go ahead and add users as assets, but that's kind of like a down the road thing, when I have a bit more time. Right now my priority is just to get these phones out and working, but this asset management will help, and again everything is going to be QR code, so anybody can scan and find out more information about it.

I'm finishing up for today because my head's starting to hurt and I feel like I may still be, I don't know, not sick but something's going on anyways. I don't know.
