Magenta Construction

8:44AM - 10:11AM (1 Hour 26 Minutes)

8:47AM

I'm gonna finish preparing the list of tasks to do for the Android and Intune enrollment. It's pretty exhaustive and I do have to think about going into the office very shortly. I did get ready already so I guess I could leave latest at 930 which is in 45 minutes which won't allow me to do too too much. Then I'll have this meeting with the guy. I don't know how fruitful that's gonna be. It's really hard to question if somebody is good or not at SEO or SEM. I mean SEO is dead in my opinion and it's a lot of wasted effort. I don't believe hiring a jack-of-all-trades to handle something like that. It's better to hire somebody individually or outsource individually to somebody who does marketing or hire a company to do it separately because results will definitely vary. I don't mind meeting with the guy to you know feel him out kind of thing but I'll be honest my biased opinion getting into this is that jack-of-all-trades is a master of none but a master of none is still better than a master of one I guess. For a startup you know jack-of-all-trades is great but Magenta's not in the startup phase anymore. The only advantage that I see is that there may be you know he may be more open-minded or he may have different ideas having you know background in accounting SEO SEM and he may approach things in slightly different way and maybe a good collaborative force to work with.

8:48AM

That's going to, well, yeah, I need to see how much work I can get done now because when I go there, when I'm in the office, I'm not going to be able to work on anything with these Android phones. I'll leave my computer access on, but trying to work from a tablet or from a tablet and an extra monitor is going to be not ideal. It's going to be very long and limiting, so I guess I'll end up working on the RDP connection at the office to try to get that to sync up and work for the TV, and maybe I'll have time to finish up this list preparation in the office as well.

8:50AM

since I'm not gonna have too much time to work on this list I'm going to actually just take the time right now to check if Google updates some kind of cache and if we can federate our tenant well if I could verify the domain first and then federate because that's going to be a very important part at this point in time to federate the users and I don't know why we're having this issue but needs to be done

Magenta Construction

10:44AM - 5:24PM (6 Hours 39 Minutes)

10:44AM

Just finished meeting with Alejandro.

5:14PM

I was in the office today, I met with, I forgot his name already, okay, anyways, I forgot his name. He was doing an interview with Troy.

5:15PM

He sounded like a pretty good person, but he definitely didn't have marketing experience, and then he admitted on his own that no leads or anything, and that he didn't know too much. So he had a high-level kind of idea of what marketing is, but he didn't have the experience to do it, and he wouldn't be a good guy to delegate marketing to, but might be somebody who would be good to collaborate with, and I'm sure if he's given the right directions, he could pick it up pretty well.

5:15PM

I got a filing cabinet from upstairs, or not upstairs, but from Allison, from their storage into ours.

5:16PM

I moved everything that was in the box into the storage cabinet, and I quickly labeled everything and took pictures of it and entered it into the Hoodoo platform so that we can have an inventory of what's here, and slowly I'll add the rest of the devices as well.

5:16PM

You need to print and laminate a sign that informs people not to add stuff in there and if they're taking something out that they have to let IT know so that we can update it in our Hoodoo.

5:17PM

You need to print all the asset tags for everything downstairs in the cabinet.

5:17PM

need to create a template for small asset tags and longer skinny small asset tags

5:17PM

I worked on an RDP script for the main computer, so that.

5:18PM

I worked on an RDP script for the main computer so that users can connect from the TV computer in the entrance to their computers. I still need to add a list of the computer names and update it on this one and Troy asked if I could do it on the other two as well so that will be pretty easy to do. I'm just not sure if maybe for now I'll copy the files or if I'll put them on a network share since this one already has a network share. I might just connect the other two computers and run the file so that way I only have to update it from one spot but I'm planning on getting away from this network share but since these computers aren't going to be intra-joined we can keep it so maybe I'll have to create a new drive just for these ones to synchronize them and then it'll only be used for that purpose.

5:18PM

map a network drive to the RDP profile.

5:19PM

Create a shortcut to map the network drive on one of the other TVs and create a shortcut on the desktop for that.

5:19PM

Do the same thing mapping the network drive on the other TV by AMBERS and create a shortcut on the desktop for that as well.

5:19PM

probably pin the connection to the start bar as well.

5:19PM

Order two web cameras for the other ones so that people can use them as group chats as well. Gotta ask Troy first if he wants to do that or not.

5:21PM

I tested the RDP script and it works. The issue with Microsoft saving a web account or Azure Active Directory account credentials for convenience sake posed a bit of a problem because it's not something you can turn off. Microsoft ideally wants you to just RDP into another computer and not have to authenticate over and over and over again. This was done by design but the script that I created pops up a computer selector script and lets people choose easily which computer they want to connect to and then initiates an RDP protocol with a temporary RDP profile and then it runs a check over and over and over again until the user has logged in and once the user has logged in it deletes the registry entry related to the server and remembering the host name and the credential authentication. So that way the users will always be prompted to log in from this computer and won't be forcefully saved so that other people don't log in to their computer without them knowing. So it's a security measure that needed to be done.

5:21PM

I also installed the remote access tool, WebArray remote access tool, on both of the other computers. When I get back home, if I have time. If not, Monday I'll have to do it. But if I get enough time today, I'm going to install the Action 1 deployer on both of those so I can manage them and updates. And I'll do that at the same time that I'm mapping the network drive and moving the PowerShell scripts over.

5:22PM

Install Action 1 on the TV close to the LED.

5:22PM

Install Action 1 on the TV close to Amber.

5:23PM

I also submitted the returns for, well I created a return slip for the phone cases. It was about $240, I think, for the seven of them at $27 each. Troy told me to hold off, so what I may do, since I've already started the return, I'm not necessarily going to cancel it, but I do agree that they are a little bit slippery, especially if hands become cold, there may be a higher potential for them slipping out and that's unnecessary damage. As well, they can slide around on a dash or something like that as well, I mean, the phone shouldn't really be on a dash, but it's a valid point that they could slide. So I think what we'll do is keep these for now, we have the return window until January 31st, and in that time, maybe order a couple different cheaper options, there were some for $13-$15 that have silicone, get those in, try them out, and then we'll decide which ones we want to return or order.

5:23PM

That's about it for now, so I'm going to head home. I'm happy that I got this RDP thing done, because it's very complicated and, yeah. But it's done. I'm going to go home now. And I also snapped some photos of the printer, I'm going to have to call the printer company. Because I have to get ready for setting up Universal Print and Intune. So I will need their guidance on how to do that.
