Magenta Construction
7:55AM - 4:27PM (8 Hours 32 Minutes)
12:32PM
I'm starting a reply to Frito's Inc. about the Magenta ad right now. I've got to send them an email.
12:47PM
They sent a bunch of stock clips. I'm going to look over them right now.
1:49PM
Yeah, I'm still reviewing them. I have to watch through the videos and then make reviews so that they understand the feedback behind it. I give them a rating between 1 and 5, and then I write review notes as well so that they can understand what the differences are in the videos. So, it's taking a while. And also, a couple minutes ago I had to set up an account for Vlad at T3Con as well, so.
2:11PM
Alright, I just finished reviewing everything, I'm going to try to find some stock photos for them because this might take a long time and they're not really grasping the concept. They're really showing slow-mo videos as if we're going to do a one minute kind of looper at a, what's it called, they need to have action, they need to have adventure, like triple x, like shit exploding, like they need to, like even a fucking burger commercial, like Wendy's did a burger commercial where they focus in on the burger and they turn and the flames going around it, like that's what we need, not these like very still, passive panning shots of metal or framing or whatever, they're just not serving a necessary purpose here so, I'm going to try to redirect them there.
2:59PM
Alright, I stopped because I've already spent probably quite a lot of time just doing this. I think they're probably doing okay, but I'm getting the feeling that if I don't oversee it, we're going to end up with something probably good, but not what I was really expecting in my head. I was really expecting something over the roof, like, I have this vision, and if I ... anyways. So I gave them some suggestions, and then I just told them, honestly, I want to see what you guys can do without me kind of, you know, I don't want to micromanage or anything. So I set them in the right direction, I guess, with the types of photos of what to use and what not to use kind of thing, like what's in our area, what's not, and they could reference us. I mean, it's not hard to change a video clip later, but ... anyways, I just want to see what they're going to do, because I mean, really, like, a 15 second video for me to make with my company back in the day would have probably been, like, 2 to 3 days, but we're talking probably close to 100 man hours cumulative between, you know, 2 or 3 people, right? So my involvement to get that done would have probably been 8 to 10 hours, 8 hours, well, it depends. I had really good research monkeys finding these kind of videos, so I mean, they're trained out, but really, I would say, yeah, probably 8 hours of my time, and then the rest would be of a graphic designer and a video editor that would have done it, probably like about 100 hours. So I don't want to get carried away here, because I do have other stuff that I could be working on, but I'm just, I'm not, I don't think it'll have the effect. I'm hoping, though, and I don't know if these guys are actually graphic, like, video graphic editors. I don't think that they actually are, to be honest, but we'll see. I think I would consider them, like, I don't even know if I'd consider them graphic designers, because when they sent something that they did just as a mock-up, it's like, I don't know why they repeated the work, and...
