Magenta Construction

8:18AM - 11:10PM (14 Hours 51 Minutes)

10:40AM

So I'm just trying to do this Bluebeams SSO and SCIM integration and I upgraded into the new control panel at app.bluebeam.com.org admin and it seems that in the new control panel it shows the sync groups and I have gone into the sync groups following the instructions provided and assigned the Bluebeam Complete licensing. So it's showing the proper user counts that's synchronized from Microsoft correctly but when I tried to apply the plan and the contract in this portal it doesn't seem to be applying but they did mention in the instruction that we might be able to select a force group sync once every 30 minutes I haven't seen that yet so what I'm thinking is that maybe we have to wait for the Microsoft side to synchronize. I am going to keep looking at this I'm checking into the Microsoft admin panel right now to check the provision logs but what I may do instead of wasting time on this right now I may just let it sit for half an hour or an hour and do something else I contacted a couple people at the company at Magenta and they seem to say that the Bluebeam is working so I'm not too concerned with resolving this immediately but I would like to get this done and over with by the end of the day but I think again that very potentially it might just need to synchronize with the Microsoft Entra before it assigns the licensing again so I'm just going to wait instead of overthinking it and I'm checking here the last sync time was at 10.03 a.m. and our interval is about 40 minutes so I believe at 10.43 it'll sync again so

11:00AM

So it did the sync and I can't see them in the licensing subscription. I don't know what's going on here. Yeah, I don't know what's going on here, but I've done everything right and apparently all the licensing is working, but I can't see it in here. Licensed groups is showing up. I may have to look over our licensing, okay. I'm going to call them on the phone right now.

11:11AM

Just waiting for blooming support and I'm trying to find out what license Tony has

12:12PM

when I was working with the iPhones is that they had a lot of

12:15PM

know that the number that you gave us a call on is an appropriate callback number, so if we need to reach out to you directly, we'll be able to. Is there anything else I can assist you with today, sir? Nope, that's it. Yeah, so I'm going to leave this as it is for now until I hear back from your team. Just because it seems like there's nothing that I could do moving forward anyways. I'm just hoping that the users will not, like I asked the staff that are using the software right now if they have issues and they said no. So that should be okay, that's my biggest concern is I just don't want to leave a bad impression with the staff about Bluebeam. But I will let them all know that if there is some kind of an issue that we are working on it. I assume that in a worst case scenario, if they do lose access, I could probably come in here and it does look like I could manually, oh, nope, because it's no longer able to manage it. Okay, good. I didn't want to try this, but yeah, I'm just hoping that they don't lose their Bluebeam's capability to be able to use the software in the meantime, so. That's because they're put out, so, yeah. There's a few new things that they've added, so I guess those new things need to be double checked and stuff like this really helps us clean it up so it's presentable for everybody. And I'll let them know that this is something that we should definitely take a look at, especially if we're going to implement it for everybody. But awesome, sir. Well, thank you so much for giving us a call. I hope you have a great rest of your day. Great. Thank you very much for looking into this for me. You're very welcome, sir. Thank you. Goodbye.

12:18PM

Oops, I was recording, I guess. Anyways, so I just spent 55 minutes on the call with Bluebeam support. The guy seemed relatively helpful. He had some kind of understanding. So Bluebeam's actually ended up migrating to a new app platform. So when I was setting up this whole SSOS integration, I was following the instructions, but I was using the old portal. And there was a bit of an issue that since I was doing the SCIM portion of it, that's allowing us to control everything in our Microsoft tenant. But what was actually happening is that the sync groups that I created in Microsoft weren't showing up. So kind of as a last minute thing, I decided I'm going to try to upgrade the portal because I see these notifications coming in from Bluebeam saying that they're upgrading the portal from the older org admin to a new one. And so I did that, and then the sync groups showed up. So that was great. But then when I tried to assign our licenses to the appropriate sync groups, because I had to create four sync groups, basic, core, complete, and unlicensed, unpaid collaborator, which is equivalent to the subscriptions that Bluebeam offers. The idea is that after that, on the Bluebeam's org portal, I have to tell them which group is associated to which contracts and which licenses. When I try to update that, there seems to be a glitch. And I strongly believe it's just a program glitch. It's just a technical error on their end that their developers need to look into. Since this is a new platform that's technically not even fully launched yet, it's kind of like early access, there's probably just a small glitch going on over there. So I sent them out the whole request, and I do see that the correct data is being received from the server, but I feel like it's just a small code error that's in there. Probably something very simple that they could resolve in half an hour, but their development team might need a little bit more time to find that. So anyways, I found a glitch in their platform, and that's kind of what's...

12:40PM

All right, I documented for adding users. I should document the process of adding in. There's also syncing up if we switch to basic or complete unpaid. I'm gonna have to add an unpaid collaborator just to see what is going on here.

12:40PM

And I'm going to see if I can add a dynamic group that automatically checks if the user isn't telling any of the other ones and automatically moves all our users to unpaid collaborators. Actually, I'm going to do that next.

12:55PM

Tony needs help adding his email to his phone, and I keep telling him he has to log in under Exchange or Office 365, but I feel like he's not listening, so I feel like I'm going to have to go down there to help him do that, which I will do at the end of the day, very shortly here. I just want to do a couple other things, I've got an appointment that I've got to go to downtown anyways, so I think he finishes at 4.30, so I'll try to aim to be there around 4 just so I can keep working away here.
