Magenta Construction

8:36AM - 5:13PM (8 Hours 37 Minutes)

8:36AM

There was some problem with the web server in the morning. I had to get fixed. It's fixed now, so I'm going to start working for Magenta stuff.

10:54AM

I forgot to give an update. I am working on preparing that ERP summary before Bell calls and I have to go do an install. I should pack my tools actually shortly just so that I could do the whole hookup and everything because I will need to find all that stuff. But I just want to finish what I'm working on and then I'll go on there.

11:54AM

I'm still working on these summaries, but I do, yeah, I'm still working on the summaries, sorry I'm just in the middle of something, I'm in the deep in thought, but yeah, I have to start getting ready just in case Paul calls, because I have a feeling, usually at one or two they do that, so.

12:18PM

Last couple of minutes since 12.02, I've been just checking delegated emails. Troy sent me a message saying he lost access to Paul at MagentaConstruction.com. I went in and there's a lot missing. So I don't remember if we removed it or not, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure what's going on here. I think we might have had email forwarding set up and he was getting a lot of emails. But anyways, there's no delegation set up, so I'm just delegating right now all the ones that he needs to see. And we'll go from there. But maybe there was email forwarding. Am I in Exchange right now? Yeah, I am. No forwarding options currently set. Okay. Anyways, I'm working on this. I'm going to delegate back Dylan, Vlad, Caroline, Alejandro, and Daphne email. Right now. I'm going to have to look into that if I have time at some point.

12:24PM

I added him back to all of those.

12:57PM

Okay, still nothing from Bell, but I'm going to start getting my toolkit ready just in case, because you never know when they're going to do that.

1:18PM

I just got a text message right now that a Bell technician's on the way, so I'm, I don't know if I'm going to be able to pack all this shit up in time. I'm going to try to pack up as quick as I can and then head out there to meet them, so at least they do the install correctly.

2:52PM

Testing, testing, one, two, three.

2:53PM

So for some reason the voice notes I've been leaving haven't been recording, probably because I left the page too quick, and it just didn't upload all the way because I am in the country.

2:54PM

Anyways, long story short, I've been here now for like 45-50 minutes waiting for Bell, they text me at 1.15, saying that they're on their way, but it's 2.53 and nobody has showed up, so usually if it's outsourced tech, they show up before or on time, very quick. This kind of makes me feel that this is an in-house Bell staff, which are not really too pleasant to work with. And he probably went out, and he's probably grabbing a lunch and doing some other stuff, so it might take him a while to get here, like 3.30 or 4 or something, who knows.

2:55PM

I did however bring work. It is hot, hot like hell, and I'll probably be sweating bullets, but I did bring my laptop so that I could do work because I kind of figured this might take a while. Hopefully I have enough charge on my battery, but I mean I see a plug up here. And I do have some light stuff that I could do. I do need to order some kind of a storage device so that I could transfer the videos from Hurtin onto a USB or something. But maybe I'll do that order, and then I'll try to keep working on the summary for the ERP, but it's fucking hot, man. It's boiling hot. Should be able to try something anyways.

3:08PM

It looks like a telecom truck passed by, and that's who I thought was going to be doing the install, but they passed right by. Unless they turn around. They shouldn't generally be doing that work. They're more doing utility side work. But I'm looking at the utilities up here while I wait. Looks like there's a couple of twisted pairs that are being strung across. I'm going to ask them to see if they can take those twisted pairs down. At least from the city side, and then we can clean our cabling up anyways from our side later on, but at least it won't be connected to the street side.

3:09PM

I'm trying to make out what other utilities are here that we can cut, but I think that's going to be it. There's a coax cable coming in. There's one fiber cable coming in off the street, and then there's a second one. I think that's probably a twisted pair. I'm going to have to look at these a little bit closer.

3:12PM

It looks like there's a couple things that, a couple lines that can be cleaned up anyways. Looks like there's a twisted pair going to the back of the property here. Okay, more spying, are you fucking kidding? Looks like there's a... Oh for fuck's sake, I'm getting out of here.

3:27PM

I just got a call from the Bell technician. He's about 10-15 minutes away. So that's kind of what aligns with what I was expecting. So anyways, he'll be here in 10-15 minutes and we'll see what we can get done. He seems reasonable anyways. We might not be able to have the dual fiber in one line, but whatever it is, what it is. As long as I can get this up and working, we can figure the rest of this shit out later. And besides, if we're going to move it underground, it doesn't fucking matter. It could be two fiber lines or one. Probably easier if they just run the second separate fiber line across the overhead. Yeah.

4:03PM

I met with PJ from Bell Install, I think he actually might have been a subcontractor, I'm not too sure. He came in a van with a ladder, which is kind of what I was expecting, and I told them the situation here that, you know, this tenant is... He took my story, he accepted my story, but, you know, looked on the other side, and it's a pretty deep ditch, so he said, gonna have to call a bucket truck, which was funny because when I was talking to Bell, I told him to leave a note that bucket truck is needed, and he's like, yeah, I see it here in the notes, but the messages never get relayed, they don't get those messages until the very end, when they're actually doing the install. Just stupid, but anyways, it is what it is. And so he said tomorrow, they'll dispatch over here with a bucket truck, and he told them to bring, you know, 200 meters of fiber. It looks like everything will work as we anticipated.

4:04PM

Anyways, I'm heading back home now, and I'm going to try to finish up, oh fuck, I've got to place at least that order so I can do something else tomorrow as well. But yeah, he took my name and phone number, they're going to give me a heads up when they're here, and it's got to be ready to roll tomorrow as well. So I'll be looking for that call. Anyways, going home now, got to place one order, and see if I have energy to work on the ERP summary a little bit more today as well, but make it up.

5:08PM

I got back not too long ago, I placed that order on Amazon and just got a couple emails that I'm going to look through and then I'm going to finish up for the day.

5:13PM

all right I'm finished for today I replied to a couple emails and forwarded Troy from the message from the drone videographer and what was it Procore responded to me there is no SSL available only for full paid accounts so we'll have to manage that manually but I guess that's fine for now and that's it for me for today
