Magenta Construction
7:54AM - 5:09PM (9 Hours 14 Minutes)
8:50AM
We got the new media card, and I'm running the test on it again to make sure we don't get another fake or defective one. So, anyways, it's running now. It'll take six hours to do. I have the old return ready to go, just in case. Within three and a half hours I should know if there's a potential failure. I'm going to go back to the ERP summaries now. I don't know why I had a spidey sense about this other card, but something about it. Anyways, I'm going to spend the day working on the ERP until Bell calls, if they call, and I have my shit ready to go. Hopefully they call sooner than later, because I have plans after 6, so I don't want to be in camp much longer than 5pm.
8:59AM
I'm just editing this recorder a little bit, so that it shows me when it's uploading. Because I realize that a lot of times I try to send a couple things all together, and it just kind of fails to send messages, so...
9:59AM
I'm still editing my task manager to make it fix so they could detect if I you know whatever I mean it should be done very shortly
10:02AM
Alright, I'm going to test it now. Hopefully it works, so I can be done. And I'm going to stimulate an error as well at the top of the page here.
10:03AM
Testing, testing, one, two, three.
10:09AM
Trying a small edit that I have.
10:10AM
Looks like it's working good, and I have ascending status as well, which is good. And all the buttons end up getting disabled on the form, which is great.
10:10AM
perfect so the form works again when everything is successful I'm going to try to initiate an error now
10:11AM
This should now return a 500 error, and I should see a form pop up asking if I want to resend it.
10:11AM
That seemed to have worked, now I'm going to try the cancel option on it.
10:12AM
That seemed to work, and this should work as well.
10:12AM
Now I'm going to try a 400 response code and see how it reacts.
10:14AM
The 401 seemed to work with no user session, and it asked me to reload the page, and that worked. I'm going to try the 400 and the 403s as well right now, but I think they will also work. But I'll just test them.
10:16AM
Those all seem to work. I'm just going to test what happens if there is a 404.
10:18AM
Alright, everything seems to work fine, so now I will know when it's sending, and I won't jump the gun and send additional data, and it will take a little bit of time moving forward that I have to patiently wait for everything to be sent, and to be transcribed, and yadda yadda yadda. But at least I'll know that the messages are being uploaded, and, you know, being included on in my tasks, because it sucks whenever I'm, like sometimes what happens is I press the record button, I send the record, and then I close the window too quick or something, and the message hasn't actually been sent, so the whole process gets aborted and doesn't save. So now it should stop doing that, and it should actually upload completely and be saved so I don't lose this stuff.
10:21AM
Right, so I started that at 9 and it's now 9.20. Yeah, it took an hour and 20 minutes to do, but I wanted to make sure that I have this so that you can actually get my status updates and they're not just being lost. I'm just checking over everything in the code. I'm going to remove the old code block here. I mean, I don't really need to. But I will actually. And I do have to make sure that in my data I do have the web array ignore. Yeah, so everything seems to be working fine. So everything seems to be working fine. And I close this window down and I can get back to the actually let me just close down a couple more here because this is all good. What does this little icon mean? Recursive Oh, cool. This IDE is much better now. Save this. Don't change anything here. In the views I didn't change anything. In the API I did not. Everything is fine. Add events is good. And then I have index.php which is pinned. And I could unpin and close this. And close this project. Beauty. So I'm going to get back to working on the ERP summary now.
11:20AM
I'm still working on the high-level introduction here, but it should be done fairly soon. I've done the information about the company in general, our customers, and now I'm working on the estimate process.
12:20PM
Still working on this high-level about us. I've created the estimate process. Now I'm doing the waiting for approval process.
1:22PM
Uh, I don't remember, uh, where I was. Uh, hello, bonus reading process estimate. Okay, so I did the process, uh, estimate process. Then I did the waiting for estimate, except decline, then estimate needs revisions, estimate declined. And now I was working on, uh, estimate except decline. What we do, uh, that there's two ways that they could be accepted, um, either by the contractor telling us they want to go hard with it or by receiving a PO and what's supposed to happen after that. I think I just did this now. I think I finished it now. Um, I do have the contract declined, which is a short blurb. And then contract accepted. I'm working on that now.
1:28PM
I'm just going to check on the SD card that I was checking.
1:30PM
There seems to be an issue with this SD card too. I'm going to see if I have a different reader somewhere in the basement because I wonder if it's a reader or what's going on. I do have a different reader. I would have to have run it on a different computer. I'm going to get a different reader just in case.
1:35PM
Alright, I'm trying a different reader with that, and I'm going to keep working on this stuff as well.
1:53PM
And Daphne just needs me to approve her into Procore. I don't know why I thought I invited her, but let's do it now.
1:58PM
That's done. I just created something in Bookstock. A bit of documentation here.
2:07PM
I'm going to use this to do my documentation as well. I don't know if I can share this page. Permission. Public. Can view. Okay. Okay. Okay. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm.
2:08PM
I forgot I was still recording. Anyways, I need to change all these shelves. I enabled public view. I will need to change all the permissions for public view so that people can't see them. I'm going to do that now.
3:11PM
I thought I clicked on this. Anyways, I adjusted all the permissions. Anyways, yeah, I just said that I adjusted all the permissions in SLP, the book stack, there's quite a lot there. And I also set up the SD card thing to check. I enabled write caching and disabled some power management just to see if maybe that was the issue. I also formatted the whole card, so we'll see how that goes. I'm going to go back to writing these, well, this summary now for the ERP about the company.
4:12PM
Yeah, still working on the ERP, I got into the section about waiting to start, I did a milestone brainstorming part here, I created another page, expected results, manage subcontractors, I'm just figuring out kind of a flow here, in a second I'm going to go back when I'm done this and I'm going to make a diagram, an overview about the project, because I need to organize that, and how the data is going to be contained and how it's going to flow.
5:09PM
Alright, I'm going to stop for today because I'm already at 9 hours. So a summary of what I did today, format some media card, checked it, there was another error with it, I pulled up the old one, oh that reminds me, I'm going to cancel the Amazon return, I'll test the other card and then cancel whichever one performed worse, I didn't get a call from Bell today, I fixed my time tracking app so if there's an error it will now show me and I won't lose valuable information, that was about an hour and a half or an hour twenty minutes, I love programming, I wish I could just do that instead of what I'm doing right now because the rest of the day I was working on the ERP, the high level introduction for the business, starting to work on the whole process, I wrote about our customers, I wrote about our estimate process, I wrote about what we do during waiting for the estimates to be accepted, declined, if they need revisions, if the estimates were declined, if the estimates were accepted and how they're accepted, and then I created my viewpoint regardless of how they're received, we should create a new contract, et cetera, et cetera, what happens when the contract is declined, what happens when the contract is accepted, I did a milestone for brainstorming, then what we do waiting to start the work, I also created a quick diagram, which I'm going to have to keep working on tomorrow, I created another page in our expected results book for managing subcontractors and how that's going to do, what kind of information we need for the company that we're going to do, crews and companies inside, and qualifications will be assigned to the crews, I kind of started making a list of what we need to see in the portal, and yeah, that's about all that I did, it may not seem like a lot, but there's quite a bit of a lot that I was doing with that, it's going to take time, this is not just like pull up the BTA stuff and give it to an ERP guy and he's going to understand, there has to be a roadmap and a vision, there's so much...
